bsd-mailx software package provides simple mail user agent, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install bsd-mailx
bsd-mailx is installed in your system.
Make ensure the bsd-mailx package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep bsd-mailx *
You will get with bsd-mailx package name, version, architecture and description in a table
